Whether you want to admit it or not, Facebook has become a staple in the everyday American routine. As a matter of fact, in 2021 Americans spent an average of 33 minutes a day on Facebook, closely followed by 29 minutes a day on Instagram. That’s a lot of time considering you’re awake for only 16 hours!
When it comes to advertising, its our job as marketers to make sure we’re meeting customers where they’re at. Keep reading to learn more about why you should start using Facebook ads in your marketing strategy!

Why I love Facebook Advertising
Facebook is the most widely used social media platform in the world. With 2.91 billion (that’s right – BILLION) users, if you don’t have a Facebook page for your business, you’re really missing out. More than that, Facebook has made advertising incredibly easy for small businesses and for marketers to get their word out to the masses. Here’s why we love Facebook ads:
You can target your exact audience: Facebook knows just about everything about their users: their age, gender, location, interests, and purchasing behaviors. Rather than wasting your advertising budget on a mass audience and hoping you attract one customer, you can micro-target down to your exact desired persona and target them instead; you don’t have to worry about your message going to the wrong person.
It’s inexpensive: Facebook ads are by far the most inexpensive form of paid advertising we’ve experienced. In a paid search world (Google Ads), you can expect to pay anywhere from $2 - $12 (or more) per click. On Facebook, however, since you’re ads are so micro-targeted, you can expect to pay anywhere from $0.40 - $1.50 per click.
Facebook also offers different ways to pay for your leads – like a daily budget (good for those who want to spread their budget evenly over a set time period), or a campaign budget (when you want Facebook to optimize your bidding for you – but remember you can run out of budget quicker than anticipated).
Calculating your ROI is quick and easy: Facebook Ads manager is incredibly intuitive, and starts tracking results immediately – so you can log in 24 hours after launching your campaign to see how well your ads are performing. Facebook ads automatically measure impressions (how many people saw your ad), reach (the number of times one user saw the ad), engagement (comments, likes, shares), outbound clicks, and more.
Pair your Facebook ad with a UTM (you can learn more about UTMs here) to see the traffic to your website, and any other actions they took while there (like adding items to their cart).
It allows you to experiment: Facebook offers lots of creative ways to advertise your business or product – like carousels, videos, and single (static) images. If you’re new to the advertising space and aren’t sure which style resonates most with your audience, you can run multiple campaigns at once, see which performs best, then cancel the under-performing campaigns, all in real-time.
Facebook is the most effective social platform: According to Wolfgang Digital’s KPI Report, Facebook is the single best performing advertiser when it comes to Return on Assets.

Similarly, when it comes to conversion rates (actual sales), 93% of sales comes from Facebook feeds in the social space – making Facebook advertising a no-brainer if you’re trying to decide which platform to be on.

You don’t have to be an expert media buyer to get started
But you DO need to have a Facebook business page (so build one of those first before you continue on).
